I know that I'm a little late to the party but we need to discuss Avanti F&B. We went for the first time last weekend and had the best Sunday. Located in LoHi, Avanti Food & Beverage is an awesome dining concept that not only offers guests tons of culinary options under one roof, it also serves as an incubator for new restaurant concepts and chefs. Maybe most importantly, it's one helluva Sunday Funday spot with an incredible view of downtown from its rooftop patio. It’s great.
The idea behind this market-style food court is simple: stroll in with a group of friends, snag a table, then grab some food from from here, a nibble from there, and so on. The open space offers plenty of seating from couches to the bar to tables for two to communal gathering spots. Among the seven restaurants operating out of these industrial-chic individual shipping container kitchens, there is something to make everyone happy here. Guaranteed.
The concepts in the space currently are American Grind, Borracho Taco, Brava! Pizzeria Della Strada, Chow Morso, QuickFish, Quiero Arepas and The Regional. Our first stop was to Chow Morso because it's physically impossible for me to turn down Italian food. Crispy pizza, cheesy garlic bread and homemade pasta with mushroom ragu were all phenomenal.
The next stop -- after a fair bit of rosé -- was to Quickfish. Poke is having such a moment right now and I am here for it. My brother and I shared the spicy tuna bowl and it was so damn good. Spicy as hell but really delicious.
Outside of the unique concept, the space itself is really cool. Avanti is a modern and sleek edifice that blends both rustic and industrial attributes. The exterior displays this balance with a mix of beautiful burnt wood, a mosaic of faded red brick and large, metal-framed windows that puncture the hard facade. If you're looking for a good spot for day drinking, Avanti is your gal.
